The Dispatcher is responsible for receiving, prioritizing, and dispatching service requests while maintaining real-time awareness of staff activities to ensure safety and efficient operations. This role provides high-level customer service to the public and partner agencies, often resolving issues in high-stress situations via phone, email, and radio communication. Duties include preparing, reviewing, and maintaining detailed reports and records, managing animal-related documentation and permits with accuracy, monitoring public communications, and assisting with statistical reporting. The Dispatcher also advises the public on animal welfare laws and procedures, assesses complex service requests involving domestic or wild animals, supports shelter interactions when needed, and collaborates with other departments to uphold a positive public image and promote community and animal well-being.
Full time, with weekends and holidays as needed.
Listed pay is: $22 to $24 an hour.
