What I Did Today

Today I started my shift working on job listings and today I posted 6 jobs focused on Administrative Assistant positions in the East Bay.

I moved on to my new project – Introduction to Google Sheets – which I’m building from scratch. I am happy to be able to work on this and spend this time honing my skills on slides and sheets. My goal is to make this tutorial as interactive as I can; so this is helping me research things – practicing key words, which I’ve identified as something I need to improve on. I look forward to getting back to it tomorrow.

What I did today

Today we overviewed the basic functions of web browsers, adding relevant sites important to class onto our home pages for easy access, as well as going over useful browser extensions like uBlock origin. We also got started on the BerkMart event project and reviewed the basic features of google sheets that will be relevant to complete it. I am currently on the third step of the BerkMart event project, as I have finished the second step, the Google forms registration, at the end of class.

What I Did Today

Today, we went over how WordPress works for how to post these daily end-of-the-day posts and how to edit them. Then we went over Standing Assignments in some detail to learn what we’re expected to each day and each week. We then did a Desktop Software Setup Lab where we set up the VPN and Remote Desktop Connections we’ll be using for CTT. We also went over the process for using WireGuard and RDC to connect to CTP’s network, though more of that is for tomorrow. Next, we went over an overview on Getting Started with Ticket Systems, going over how tickets work and how they’re set up while also doing an exercise to practice creating and editing tickets, including notes and specific screenshots. Finally, we had a brief introduction to the machine and OS we’ll be connecting to for the virtual projects in later days.

What I Did Today

Today as an administrative associate, I found three job listings in the IT support field. I also dispatched emails for DEI outreach and reached the end of spreadsheet. A few email addresses were no longer valid, so I looked up updated contact information. I will be ready for a new task tomorrow.
