What I Did Today

Today I started off with some job postings, very happy that I found another remote part-time job. After that, and a conversation with Carrie, I transitioned to the ERG project and added about 15 entries. This is the last day of my first AWEX rotation, I feel really honored to be given this opportunity and I’ve really expanded my skills. Thanks to everyone at CTP, you guys rock!

What I did today…

Hi there, it’s thankful Thursday. I am thankful for the ability to keep growing and learning with my CTP classes. Especially thankful to have the ability to use Zoom for remote learning. Thankful for our instructors who have lots of patience for us students growing our skills; some slowly and some quickly. Today, we practiced our typing skills, which I am slowly improving. Then we worked as a class learning and practicing how to Post on WordPress; as an employee, making a profile and adding our picture. I am having more fun role-playing now that I am further along in class. Not sure how that will affect my future, but keeps me curious… Technology is forever growing and changing. I am thankful God created me with the ability to be adaptable. Cheers to your evening.

What I did this week

This week, we had a new lab about system imaging, had our monthly check-in, and got some articles presented. Let’s go!

So for the lab, we studied into how to use an application called Acronis to create and save system images, snapshots of entire drives intended for backup routines transitions of systems between hardware. We used Acronis to create both sysprepped and unsysprepped drives, and then moved on to other applications. Due to technical difficulties, I was only able to finish the image process with the application ‘Clonezilla’, but was able to complete most of the other parts of the lab. The required lab was fully completed, and the advanced lab had the pre-lab portion completed.

Check-ins went well. I am still struggling with meeting my required hours of SkillShare, but we came up with some strategies to help myself get the hours in next week. Hopefully I can implement these strategies successfully.

As for the articles, the hot topic was by-and-large AI. Many are amused and worried about the new technology, and where it seems to be taking us in terms of the wider market. Opinions entered mixed, and they left mixed. Only time will tell if these forces influence humanity for good or evil.

Overall, I would say it was a good week.

What I Did Today

It’s beautiful here today! And I did Skillsoft this morning to complete my 3 hours of classes…. In class, we went over tech articles selected by the students. And then we worked on the lab project. I created a disk image with the live clonezilla and I am restoring the image right now! Starting to enjoy this class!!

What I Did Today

Today we shared tech articles and as has been frequently been the topic of discussion, many of our articles focused on AI and its varying impacts. we had great discussion about its benefits and also the potential harm is has. Afterwards we continued work on the Disk Imaging lab, comparing different softwares for creating a backup image of a hard drive (I prefer Clonezilla myself for its simplicity and being free).

What I did today

I worked on posting jobs on the C.T.P. job board adding more admin assistant positions in Napa and the Bay Area. Helping C.T.P. clients with their job search. I also met with Carrie for my weekly check-in and was trained in a new assignment I am excited to start next week.
