Class started with typing practice. Mike reviewed what we did yesterday, fixing mistakes in 5 letters. I met with Carrie for Employment Services Intake. We had to edit a document for headings, add page numbers, and make a table of contents. We played Jeopardy, and Joseph won! Congrats!!

Started with typing. It went better than expected. Marc went over things that can help us meet deadlines, like Post-its and Google Calendar. Mike reviewed the Google Docs bar in more depth. We finished fixing some letters, like fonts, spacing, and alignments.

It’s June 1, so we have new students joining CORE. We did the orientation. We reviewed GMAIL. I was finally able to get a professional email address! We also reviewed how to set up scheduling an email to go out in the future.

I did Sexual Harassment training and got the certificate. Worked on my resume. Learned to list the skills for the job I want to get. We practiced answering job interview questions like: What are your pet peeves? What did you like least about your last job?

Started with typing, not my best work. Did an email titled “Rose, Bud, Thorn” for the end-of-month progress, in which we are sharing our rose tomorrow. Must work on delivery for tomorrow. Practiced typing. I wrote some professional responses as a Customer Service Representative for BerkMart. Did an Independent Challenge V2. I need more training and practice on Google Sheets.

Learned about ChatGPT for the first time! I want to work on my resume this weekend, using it. We did practice on how to network. I definitely need to work on that. I enjoyed the interview questions we worked on today, like what book or movie has had an impact on you and why. I …

Did 2 mock interviews with Rafa Rogel and Oliver from Beneficial State Bank. I really enjoyed my time with Rafa. Oliver shared how he started as a teller in a really busy downtown LA branch. I felt more comfortable doing the interviews. It helps a lot knowing your stories using the STAR method. Thank you!

Today, we worked on BerkMart flyers. I was having technical difficulties during the class. I would have loved this assignment otherwise. Everyone is so supportive and helpful. Mark is awesome with us!!!!

I enjoyed today’s class very much. It was fun doing the BerkMart role-playing, customer and employee. I like to listen to people and how they word things. Search engine modifiers were interesting. I have to learn more about what to use according to my needs.
