July 28

It proved to be a typical monday today. I know I am having a challenging day when the small simple problems trip me up and hold me up because I cant solve them. I am also very tired today. It’s when I sit, my eyes don’t stay open very long before I’m nodding out. I have been keeping myself pretty busy though with resumes and research and the remote jobe boards are fun to just dream aboutl. one can dream

What I did today

Today in my role as an administrative associate I identified three additional job postings that appear to be strong opportunities for those seeking IT support roles. I also made progress on updating the DEI company spreadsheet with contact details. I felt more productive and quicker at locating the needed information today. I felt that my skills in navigating corporate websites improved. I continued to use ChatGPT to help locate corporate emails that were difficult to find.

What I did today

In the first hour I practiced typing and then added some job listings to the CTP website. In the second hour I added to the emergency funds list for Napa County. In the last hour I worked on the slides project, using GIMP to prepare an image for the taskbar slide.

What I Did Today.

I would say that a moment that stood out was me working on the formatting of the text and images for CTP’s Computer Terminology slides. I noticed that some slides shouldn’t be changed, at least if we keep the text the same. This is mainly because some slides have a lot of text.

What I did

Always fun having the two classes together and working with CTT. Watched a video on how to answer the phone called “when the phone rings”. I was in group with Devin W. and we did the POW phone scripts scenarios where we each took turns be the caller or the employee. I am proud of myself for finishing the Independent Challenge and I hope that I did a good job. My last Independent Challenge for training.

What we did today!

typing challenge for the first 15 minutes

then we role play POW script with online phone MicroSIP

For our second and third hour, we had our monthly Independent Challenge.

Hope everyone have a good night!

What I Did Today

In my first hour I researched job listings where I focused on Administrative Assistant positions in the Sacramento area. I posted four listings to the website.

I moved on to the “Essential Job Functions” presentation that I’ve been working on for Jose. The 9 slides are inspired by the original presentation but I modernized the appearance and tried to make it more interactive when presented to CORE students in the future. I will meet with Jose to review.

Jose was not available to meet today so I practiced my typing for about an hour. Then I decided to go to Percipio where I chose to take a QuickBooks course. I’m not familiar with it but I see QuickBooks come up on job listings a lot, so I intend to practice it more often in the future. When I took the course test, I only scored 59% and will need to re-take the course.
