What I learned today
We reviewed many Google doc editing, review, and proofing techniques. In addition I checked in with Carrie about job goals, target organizations, techniques such as dedicating 80% of my time to networking and also to strategically apply only to the best fit role given my goals and accommodations.

We covered many new options in Google Docs including: how to make changes to the font type, style, and spacing plus how to insert images and manipulate the background. I also learned how to change the background color of the document and using word art create a signature.

What I learned today
I learned how to create a promotional flyer – including how to add WordArt in gradient color and type styles. The assignment included the same basic information then classmates created our own flyers; some included more detailed sales info and unique images.

We did typing practice, role-played a BerkMart employee and a BerkMart Customer and learned about and practiced different Search Engine Modifiers. I enjoyed all of these areas and really appreciated Marc’s engagement, patience in answering questions, his encouragement and the great participation of my classmates.

We worked on creating a Word Press page with our desired BerkMart title, created a bio and uploaded a professional image. I had my highest typing score: 54 words per minute at 99% accuracy. In class, we practiced the STAR method. It’s an excellent way to prepare for behavioral interview questions. We also worked on answers to a variety of other types of interview questions. It was interesting to hear how Carrie and other classmates answered questions.
