Well we were shown to make a folder with sub-folders on the desktop. Folders for each month and 4 subfolders for the weeks.
It went great until I transfer my work from the folders I had already created. The information did not copy or move over correctly. We were unable to figure out what went wrong. So my lesson for today is NEVER delete your work until you check the new location received it properly.
We also watched a video on google calendars which was very helpful on how to send invites out.
Today I began by finding and posting 3 jobs to CTP’s skill center page, scoured from various job search sites. I summarized and linked the jobs in a WordPress post. Next I worked on cross-referencing the DEI sheet with the watch page for companies that have disbanded or committed to their DEI initiatives. I didn’t find any listings to be removed or added since the last time I checked. After that, I worked on a task Jose assigned to me recently, which is to go through a course on SkillSoft’s new portal and compare courses to see how much course material overlaps. During this time, I joined a study hour with a CTP training participant to maintain accountability with them getting their SkillSoft hours done, and it was amusing to know that we were both working on SkillSoft related tasks during this time. They arrived late, but also stayed a little later than usual. During this time, I was also able to get through the first course I wanted to finish. At the end, they asked me some questions about the future following training and the right course to take. I was only able to offer limited advice, but I’m happy to have been able to discuss it. Finally, I switched to researching rehabilitation centers for potential partnership with CTP, and worked on that for the remaining time. Overall, I feel as though today was very productive.

I found 3 job listings for the CTP website. On my last 2 hours, I looked for more organizations that provide emergency food for CTP’s emergency food list, but I mostly found repeats of organizations that appear in many cities and states that are already listed.
Today is a day to be proud of just showing up. Felt awful but showed up on time to both coworking and class. Did not get much skillsoft done. Also was moving slow in class. But showed up and did what I could without it being painful. Very much plodding along.
– Learning about networking! I think it would be very interesting if my brain was working right now. Learned a lot of new terms. “DNS” has finally been downloaded into my brain.
– Ended on an interesting error to solve tomorrow.
– Networking is so abstract.
– I just really like working in VirtualBox. Someone at my volunteering recommended is and me and another guy chimed in with a “oh VirtualBox is great” in unison.
– looking forward to maybe being an intern so I can turn some of the video documentation into written docs. It’s at least annoying, if not an accessibility issue.
– Succeeded in not feeling worse after class and even maybe even a little better. I find this very encouraging.
