June 17

My typing was noticably faster today. When I started, I could hardly hit 40 now. I got like 45 several times. I kinda like the flyer assignment cause I like design. Was a pretty easy-going enjoyable class today. The assignments were pretty easy so everyone was pretty relaxed.

What we did today!

Today, we began with a 15-minute typing practice session. After that, we continued our employee/customer role-play for Sunshine Express Café. Later, Marc showed us how to send calendar invites using Google Calendar. We spent the last half hour learning on Percipio.

What I did today

Typing practice on Monkeytype,

The class did role play as cafe employee and a customer.

and worked on Google calendar by creating an event, inviting the class to it.

Also, worked on Percipio assignment individually.

What I did Today?

I was practicing typing, and then we reviewed the Accountability homework assignment on the Flyer Research, as I wasn’t here on Monday to catch up. Then we practiced a role-play with a script on Sunshine Express, with one of us playing the customer and the other playing the employee with customer service skills. I was the employee, and Anthony was the customer, and then we switched roles for the second time. I did the role play again with Djuana. Then we watched a video on how to use a Google Calendar: adding events, hiding events, coloring the events, etc. After that, we did an in-class work creating an event and sending out the invites. I did the San Francisco Fourth of July event at Fisherman’s Wharf.

What I Did Today

– Practiced typing to increase productivity.

– Found and posted job listings relevant to program participants’ skills and jobseeking goals.

– Researched and collated contact information for business outreach to seek partnerships.

– Worked independently.
