What I Did Today
For my first hour I researched job listings and I focused on Administrative Assistant positions in Santa Rosa. I started with Zip Recruiter but then moved over to Indeed. IMHO, Indeed is a more user friendly website.
I finished the project that I was working on for Carrie – Emergency Food & Grocery List by County. That was a cool project.
I asked Jose if he had anything for me to work on and I started working on a slides project – Essential Job Functions – which is used for the CORE program. He wanted me to clean it up a bit by using actual examples of a job post and I decided to look at Administrative Assistant example. The idea of the presentation is for students to get used to looking at job listings and to focus on the “Action Words” used to describe the job and to also look at “Qualifications” to make sure they are able to perform the job.

What I did today
Today I was first working on the job postings. I am looking for entry level positions that are a good match for the students to apply to. The challenge is to find an opportunity that does not require too much qualifications, because most of the positions does require the applicant to have some knowledge of the position. Then I was working on the Emergency Food Bank listing. I am currently working on Kern county in Southern California. I was able to find some new places to add to the list. The challenge is to find new places within the county to add to the list and to make sure that the place has not already been added to the list. Also, I was working on the Business Outreach Program assignment. I am currently finding the state where each place is located and adding it to the list.
What I did Today
