What I Did Today

I started with job listings and posted five jobs to the website. The focus was “Administrative Assistant” in the Sacramento area.

I then circled back to an issue that Jose and I worked on at the end of day yesterday. We weren’t able to upload a Job Fair Flyer as a pdf. file to the website and were unable to convert the file to jpeg or something like that right away. But in the group chat I could see a fix was found this morning, and so I practiced with this afternoon. I will keep practicing.

Today I’ve also identified a new, important goal of mine while I intern to gain work experience, or in this case, get more tech savvy. I’m finding the “chat channels” a bit challenging as I struggle with the multiple discussions / questions. I must improve on my ability to collaborate online with associates if I want to be successful working from home in the future.

What I Did Today

I believe we are close to done with our slides project, as we edit the theme. The only thing I can think of editing that isn’t what my coworkers and I are working on is the changing of text, or maybe splitting more slides. Besides this, I think we are almost done.

Today as an administrative associate, I found 4 job listings for IT support. I worked on DEI outreach emails and sent them out. I had to find some updated contact information since some emails did not work. I was able to work more efficiently then yesterday as I got used to the email process.

In the first hour I practiced typing for the first 15 minutes, and then added some job listings to the CTP website. In the second hour I worked on the emergency funds list for Yolo County. In the last hour I worked on the basic computer terminology slides project.
