Did some Sheets work with the SUM Formula
We are the first class to be doing a “Benchmark”. We did two; CompTIA A+ Core 1 & 2 Literacy Benchmarks.
Tech Article (Only one as we ran outta time) Thanks, Val!
Introductions: New Student. Yay!
This Post! 🙂
Started today with an alumni from the CTP program, talked through his experience going through the program and success after the program and how he did it. Also today went through emailing the percipio progress every Thursday. Then continued on with the Phase two of the project inception. worked on that for a little while then had a short tech article presentation.
Today I was doing practice typing, and there was also an optional zoom meeting going on to hear a graduate from CTP that works at Oracle. I didn’t go but I want to go to the next one hopefully. And then we did an overview review on Google Sheets. The things we reviewed on Google Sheets were merging cells, using formulas, adding columns or rows, and seeing if we could only add certain rows or columns with the formulas. Lastly, we did our Google Sheets project on selling Girl Scout cookies.
There was a guest speaker named Danny who is a graduate of the program and now he works for Oracle. It was nice to hear from a graduate and gives me hope that I can find a job after I am done with training too. That was a nice break from tying. Marc did a review of Google Sheets. Now I know how to merge the cells and do formulas. I worked on the Girl Scout Cookie Google Sheet exercise. I made sure to ask questions on the things that I was confused about. I understand formulas a little bit better but still find them tricky.
Today was a rough day where I hardly could focus, but it was a good thing that all we did today was work on the benchmark tests for the Skillsoft courses. It was rough because I was stuck on the phone dealing with transferring phone number for a few hours that ate into my time in class. I could’ve possibly done it a different time, but I did set aside time way before class to do this, just wasn’t expecting there to be so many issues that i end up spending much longer than the hours I set aside to work on it. Hopefully next class we can get into the real CTT courses and do some labs.
The class is fun. I need to stop listen more and talk less…apologies….
My typing is gonna get better and I mean it!
The point of this CTP is to help me gain employment in a chosen field. It is doing just that for me. I am turning in resumes and cover letters to jobs on linked in. I have a phone interview monday now.
Peace
Today I worked on Google Sheets for Girl Scout cookies.
I gained more confidence.
Today I researched jobs to post on the CTP skill center. I continued working on the slides presentation for the rest of the day. I know what I would like to do with it, but google search isn’t what it used to be and finding resources can be difficult.
Today we started out with typing tests. Next we worked with google sheets for the remainder of class. Working on formulas and adding and subtracting etc.,
I spent the first hour and a half researching job listings. This time I focused on Customer Service jobs starting in the Walnut Creek / Concord / Martinez area and then to switched to Fairfield area.
I spent the rest of the day working on a new project where I am starting where Mitsi left off. I am copying links for Emergency Food Bank information from the spreadsheet to a Google Doc that is separated by County. Some of the links have already been transferred, so I going through to add to the document new links that have been found since the document was first created.
