Today, we started with typing practice. It really helps to practice every day in class. Today, we worked on the UCSF Clinical Nurse Wage Table Project. Google Sheets are challenging, and I was happy to work on them today. I had some struggles with merging cells and alignment. Mike showed me how to do it. I will continue to work in Google Sheets to become proficient in using them.
Today, I worked on data entry for a wage spreadsheet. I had to create and structure borders and use functions to complete certain parts of the spreadsheet. I also worked on typing, which I need to improve more on i.e not using 1 fingers on a keyboard to type things out. I also completed my monthly evaluation for class month, which I stated that I believe I am making good progress towards my career goal.
I learned about how to send a Progress Report about our Skillsoft progress (hours), and I learned how to schedule posts through email and schedule posts through Slack. Also, I learned that there are different tabs in your workstation when signed in to the Virtual Machine, and you can migrate between two tabs. Lastly, I learned how to create a Virtual Machine in VirtualBox.
Today in class, we had time to work on wage tables. That took up most of class, so we really only had enough time to work on the wage tables and work on our what we did today’s.
We began the lesson by discussing how scientists are researching ways to use the mosquito proboscis in the development of printer parts.
We, as a class, then went over the Skillsoft weekly requirements and strategies for tackling the number of course module hours required each week, and then returned to discussing what is expected of the weekly tech article presentations.
Following this Jose gave an in-depth explanation of the email we should be sending each week that summarizes our Skillsoft progress.
We all then jumped into lab and I am *really* enjoying these lab exercises.
TL:DR – Debian installed via VMM. Ubuntu also installed via VMM. Ran into a couple technical issues that I was able to resolve with Jose’s help but otherwise another successful day with CTT.
Today, we started with the 15-minute typing practice. I worked on finishing my Cover Letter Assignment. I made some changes to it with the help of Marc and Mike. We also did the Girl Scout Cookies Sheet Assignment in class. I enjoy working with Google Sheets to get more experience with formulas.
