What I did today

Today we worked on interview questions, Carrie helped me with one of my questions that I was stuck on. We got sent to a break room to discuss some questions that we can ask the hiring people. Also we sent a follow up email to the interviewers.

What I Did This Week

This week, I had an interview with Mechanics Bank for the first time. I also worked on my resume during employment services class, and I talked a little bit during our group about what I wanted to be when I grew up and what challenges I faced during a job and how I handled it. I also worked on creating an appointment with my fellow classmate to Power of Wellness.

What I Did Today

Today, we started with a presentation on follow-ups for job applications with phone calls and emails. The call was tricky, but the email went smoothly.

For the second hour, we did our professional job development. I worked on some of my resume and cover letter.

For the third hour, we did mock interview practice. Some fun questions and we also brainstormed questions to ask interviewers.

What I did this week

After daily typing practice and some Percipio and Sheets work, I also had mock interviews this week, interview questions and answers practice, and a couple in-class exercises on scheduling appointments with customers on the phone, leaving follow-up reminders and confirmation emails for those appointments, and how to follow up after applying for a job through email and voicemail.

What I Did Today

Today we continued with employment services, going over the class schedule and briefly did an exercise involving job application follow ups. We worked on our professional documents throughout class, as I focused my attention on filling out more of the interview questions, the cover letter and building up my LinkedIn profile. Near the end of the session, we did some interview practice and wrapped up for the day with a self-assessment.
