What I learned today

I met with Alison Perez at CSR with Mechanics Bank; she offered valuable feedback after a mock interview. Alison complimented my professionalism and said that I came across as strong and confident. She mentioned that my leadership and passion came across – a shared and area for improvement: some interviewers like well-rounded answers while others want very concise answers that are very structured and direct. She liked the balance of the serious and light conversation we had and the honesty of my answers. She noticed that I have a strong background in terms of experience and education. I also met with Jerry Torres, a BSL (Banking Service Lead) with the Kings City branch. He’s been with Mechanics Bank for 14 years. He mentioned that I have a solid professional background and said I interviewed very well – he said “amazing” – and that he could see me as a Branch Manager 🙂

What I did Today

One more day left of my internship. Today was a pretty good day — I even got a better typing score than I did yesterday, which felt great. After posting a job listing, I had some extra time and found a useful link on Mastodon that I shared in the social media chat.

I also finished the email outreach project, and Carrie had me go back to finding IT jobs near Rohnert Park. I haven’t done that in a while, so it was nice getting back into it and knowing it could help a student or recent grad looking for opportunities in that area.

I keep telling myself: I can do this. I can finish strong. Just one more day. At the same time, it’s kind of sad knowing tomorrow is my last day of the internship. It’s been a meaningful experience, and I’m definitely going to miss it.
