Today, as part of the Computer Hardware Pre-lab, I began working on the “Disk Partitions of the Installed OSs” section. I was able to create a new Multi-OS machine with the required specifications and installed Windows 10 Pro, now working on installing Debian and partitioning the disks correctly. I realized after doing my research that I have to shrink the Windows disk size first before partitioning Debian, so that will be the first step tomorrow.
What I Did Today
I clocked-in with Homebase. We reviewed and completed the pre-lab. Then we reviewed the goal of the Lab: creating a VM and adding multiple OSs. I created my VM and installed Bodhi, Ubuntu, and Manjaro. I had difficulty installing Manjaro which took up a lot of time.
What I did today
Today I continued to work on the Computer Hardware lab. I created and installed a new Windows 10 VM. I figured out how to partition storage space on the Windows 10 VM.
What I Did Today
Today I tried out new typing websites. I adjusted my Monkeytype format. I worked on my elective “Art Google Sheets Practice.” I also learned how to adjust screenshot images.
What I Did Today
My power went out right at the beginning of class, then it came back on. I spent most of the day on my portfolio, and we learned how to add cool shapes to our presentations to make them more interesting. We learned how to modify Monkeytype as well.
What I Did Today
Today at CTP, I continued updating and posting new job listings for our participants—be sure to check them out when you get a chance. One role that stood out was a Junior IT Help Desk position, which could be a great opportunity for someone in the San Francisco area looking to grow in the tech field.
I also added several upcoming job fairs in the Santa Rosa area, which may be especially helpful for participants in Rohnert Park and Petaluma who are looking to connect directly with employers.
In addition, I spent time working on a new DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) project—an important step in supporting our mission and strengthening the impact we have within our community.
Overall, it was a productive day with the CTP team, and I’m looking forward to continuing the work and sharing more opportunities soon.
Be sure to explore the listings and see what fits you!
