What I did Today

Today was not an easy day. I had a hard time finding jobs to post because so many jobs wanted degrees or more than one year of experience. I managed to post three job listings for today but not without doing some research. I would have got farther on the email list but there were a number of emails coming back saying address can not be found so I had to goggled the emails which took a lot of time. I left off at 84 but I wish I could have done more. Hopefully, Wednesday will be a better day. I have my weekly checkin with Carrie and she will give another project to work on. Today was a stressful day not going to lie but this is teaching real life experience. I realized my mistake on the emails and make sure I fixed it. I learn my lesson to take my time and not to rush. Learning some many new things it just takes time and patience.

What I Did Today

Today, we learned how to spot scam job listings, which is especially helpful for remote positions. Then we did a workplace conflict reading, quiz, and discussion, learning how to best handle conflict situations. During lab time, I worked on my resume, making it shorter with more impact statements. We then did interview practice, which was very good practice on the fly, since I had no script prepared.

Today I watched a video on Spotting Job listing scams. I also watched a video on workplace conflict and participated in the class discussion afterwards. I also worked on my cover letter. I ended my day with a discussion on various work scenarios.

Today, I worked on building my LinkedIn profile; it’s not complete, but it’s almost there. Together with the team, we went through how to identify scam job postings. We also did workplace conflict. We read two scenarios about workplace conflict, discussed them, and answered some questions. We ended the session by reviewing some of our interview questions.

Then we worked on conflict management skills; looked at a couple scenarios where conflict was present and discussed them in our group. Then we did lab work, and I focused on my interview Q&A. Afterwards we shared some answers with the group and also included some icebreaker questions.
