CTP Skill Center

Today I acted as both a customer service rep and a customer in a
Sunshine Store exercise. I also made currency change in Nigerian dollars and

submitted my Percipio/Skillsoift work.

Some of the things I did today include the Sunshine Express Cashier Script training with my peers, and also work on my professional documents.

We did typing practice, and I’m improving. We role-played as employees or customers at Sunshine Express, gaining valuable practice in customer service. We then had some lab time where I started on my flyers research. I think the clearer and more accessible the flyer is, the better.

Clocked-in to Homestead. We practiced researching companies and used Delta Dental as an example. We did ice breakers and practiced interview questions like “What’s your weakness”, “Name a time you had a challenge or conflict and how did you resolve it?”, and 1 more I can’t recall. We discussed participating in Toastmasters, which is a public speaking club to help people refine their communication skills.

Worked on my resume. Practiced company search. Worked on interview questions.

Today, we learned how to research a company before an interview. We gained several resources for this research that I find very helpful. During the documents lab, I decided to use the CTP template. I’m copying and pasting from my old resume into the new template, updating things as I go along. We then did interview questions, which were challenging but very good practice.

Today I learned about researching a company. I continued to work on the interview questions and practiced some interview questions with the group.

I learned how to search a company’s specifications before my interview, like the ownership or the size.

I searched volunteer jobs on Idealist.

We all practiced general questions of a mock interview.

Today was employment services day, where I worked on my professional documents, participated in interview-related questions and answers, and also conducted a few job searches on Indeed.

Today I continued working on job listings for the CTP website, researching opportunities that participants can apply for in different areas. I also started posting job fairs, resource fairs, and virtual hiring events to help connect participants with employers and new job opportunities. I always enjoy researching and finding helpful resources that can support CTP participants in their job search. Another productive day with CTP.
